2nd Missouri Cavalry Co.E now recruiting !
The 2nd Missouri Cavalry Co.E is now accepting male dismounted recruits (no horse required to have fun) to fill the ranks for the next campaign season. No prior military service necessary! Willing to train the right individuals (you must know your right foot from your left)! Visit exotic cities and towns across the country and thrill the spectators (sports fans) with your military drill, valor, bravery and courage on the battlefield in defense of our beloved Confederacy! This unit is not for the feint or wimpy. However it is a family unit (family members dressed in 1860's period clothing will be more than welcome to camp with us). Only our Troopers will be allowed any voting rights, pertaining to the Regiment's military functions.
Our primary function is to portray those persons in the war, of the SOUTHERN persuasion (Confederate). However we will occasionally portray the Yanks on a need to basis. Some of the present members have also served in the real military (that's why their so mean). And they have studied the history of the war for several decades and have studied numerous books on cavalry drill and tactics that are available and have been in numerous battles and skirmishes in the past years.
![]() Captain John (Johndog) Zdroj
We have a strong leader Captain John Zdroj, and is fair minded with a sense of humor and will look out for the welfare and well being of all the 2nd Mo's Troopers (nobody will abuse you with him around)!!! Even with our above listed faults, we have one mandatory rule. YOU WILL HAVE FUN!!! After all, that is what reenacting is all about! You will also make life long friends with your fellow Troopers and learn much history about the War for Southern Independence. If you feel tough enough to withstand the rigors of being a great Cavalry Trooper that the enemy will fear when you step onto the field of glory, come and join up with the "the Excaliber" company of the 2nd Missouri Cavalry and ride with General Forrest to become one of the best in the Confederate Cavalry Service!
![]() 2nd Missouri Cavalry in battleline, Jacksonville, IL. I am the one with a pistol in hand.
Recruits for immediate enlistment into Confederate Cavalry Service with Company "E" 2nd Missouri Cavalry C.S.A. Willing to learn the School of the Trooper (dismounted cavalry drill) with possible promotion to Corporal (squad leader) or above. Knowing your left foot from your right is very helpful in this position. Being tough and somewhat fit is a requirement along with blindly following the orders of those appointed over you. These men are the backbone of the army. Without them the Officers and NCO's would have nobody to order around. Also must be very willing to shoot at Yankees while formed up in battleline! This is the most sought after position we have to offer any true southerner that has an ounce of patriotism for his country. Many folks would be willing to pay money to do that, even 140 years later. Also must be willing to die in defense of Dixie! Never fear, we have top notch doctors that always bring our men back to life and with all their limbs, shortly after the battle, even without scars! Privates always respect their NCO's and know that they would never lie to them. Do not forget that when your Corporal makes a mistake and blames it on the Sergeant! Sergeants are tuff and can handle it! They used to be Privates and Corporals!
This is all very serious FUN, even though some of it might be humorous, I planned it that way. Reenacting is about having FUN!!! Now that you have made it this deep within our website, you are now ready to JOIN the 2nd Missouri Cavalry and start having some fun! You will become an outstanding cavalry Trooper and have fun, learn American history and make new life long friends. You have Captain Johndog's Promise!
